Required subjects
- Applicants require a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a Diploma endorsement and a minimum of 30% in the Language of Learning and Teaching (LOLT)
- or a National Certificate (Vocational) [NC(V)] Diploma pass with a minimum of 40%
- or a Senior Certificate (SC) with endorsement and a minimum of 33.3% in LOLT
- International applicants require a SAQA Evaluation Certificate confirming NSC Level 4 equivalence with at least 40% in English, or may qualify via a cognate Higher Certificate or Advanced Certificate
- Alternative access routes include Mature Age Exemption Category 5 (age 23+, attempted Senior Certificate, three years' work experience, demonstrated programme-related ability)
- Category 6 (age 45+, admitted on age alone)
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for relevant experience and informal qualifications
- completion of a USAf-approved cognate foundation programme
- transfer with at least 120 credits from year one of a cognate diploma
- an OQSF Level 5 cognate qualification (minimum 120 credits)
- consideration of IEB International Secondary Certificate holders or USAf Exemption Certificate holders with appropriate documentation
