About ####
An abbreviation is a shortened or brief form of a word or phrase. It is often used to save time.
• An abbreviation is usually found in the written form and is not pronounced as it is written. When we speak, we pronounce mev. as mevrou.
• An abbreviation usually ends in a full stop. asb. mnr. kapt.
Single letters are exceptions e.g. c (sent) s (sekonde)
• Abbreviations using only capital letters don’t get full stops e g. RSA (this is optional)
